Best Days

It was the only picture besides the one of their team that Guy had of her. A vacation-- their only team vacation-- taken just two weeks before the Kyuubi attack.

They had been young, he knew that now. Fifteen was not old enough to love each other like he and Kaori had, and if he ever found his students doing the same thing he would beat them both sensless.

But...they had fought a war, lost countless friends. They knew death waited for them everyday; would seize upon them at the first mistake. They hadn't wanted to take the chance of having regrets.

And he didn't regret, even when he held Kaori's broken body only weeks later. Those had been the best days of his life, and he would not forget.

I feel so silly, having an OC/Canon Character pairing. I usually just DON'T do that. But...Guy needs love, and like AnkoGuy and ShizuGuy as much as I do, they just don't work. And the more I play with Kaori, the more the two of them do. Which is sad, because she dies T_T.

Had bunches of fun drawing this. I really like young Guy. You can see Guy in his face and I'm ridiculously proud of this fact. And the sparkle was too much fun .
